Getting the Word Out – Formatting for Print and Web

There are many ways to get the word these days. It’s important to reach the biggest audience possible. To do this you have to understand what your recipients want and how they are going to use it. This will help to determine the file formats that are best for them. Here’s is an example of a press release with images. Some recipients will want to download and print a PDF file while other viewers may prefer an HTML webpage or an HTML newsletter. Specific information such as text or image can be chosen, copied and saved by the viewer without downloading the content entirely.

The HTML newsletter and webpage will have live links while the PDF will not. This is another consideration. The solution h2 Internet Services recommends is this: In your HTML newsletter place a link to view the content online as the HTML webpage. Attach a PDF file to the newsletter and now you have all 3 in 1 source. Remember to include a link to the PDF file on the HTML webpage and in the HTML newsletter. Now you have all your ground covered and your recipients have choices in ways to share your vital information.

Promoting Your Event

When Tanya Rynd planned a spontaneous major exhibit of her art she was excited but overwhelmed at the thought of promoting it with less than three weeks before the opening. Promoting your event can be easy when h2 Internet Services is there to help. h2 designed her postcard and business card and sent them off for rush printing. h2 also provided the E-vite and E-business card for emailing and texting. We also set up her Facebook event page and designed and formatted her press release in a PDF file and HTML page. h2 coached Tanya as to how to use her tools for promotion too. Her website and image galleries are on the way! Now Tanya has more time to plan the exhibit and events associated with it.

Featured Blog: Cookinando!

Cookinando.com is a blog for a cooking show that is being developed. Soft-launching their web presence before the show is complete allows the show developer to see possible viewer statistics and feedback. This is important info for future sponsors and broadcast networks. Twenty four hours after the soft-launch the site had over 300 visits. This is an encouraging amount. Additional comments in their Facebook group, Twitter and other social networks helped bring traffic and elevated their ranking in Google. The name of the show, Cookinando, was already being used on the Internet by bloggers and other cooking shows. It took some swift SEO moves for me to bring it from being buried on page 10 of Google to 1st page, top listing.

Team h2 put together the cooking show concept, organized the talent and directed the production. Since I was so busy with all that I needed a web presence quickly and it needed to fly into the search engines so I chose WordPress for it’s platform. It is hosted on ipage, powered by wind energy. I like to keep it green when I can. Within a few hours I customized the template, put in a custom header and installed all the plugins and widgets to enhance its capabilities for social networking and SEO. It was the perfect solution to a busy schedule. h2 also took care of all the food photography capturing all the beauty of the recipes prepared by Heriberto.
